This disease is a group of risk factors that can affect the heart, blood vessels, and other aspects of your body. These risk factors include high blood pressure, high blood sugar, excess body fat around the waist, and abnormal cholesterol or triglyceride levels. It’s crucial to address these issues early to prevent serious health complications.

Symptoms of Metabolic Syndrome

Increased Waist Circumference: Obesity around your tummy or large stomach can indicate that you have an excessive amount of fat around the abdominal area.

High Blood Sugar Levels: It may manifest in signs such as polydipsia and polyuria.

High Blood Pressure: It is so prevalent that it is referred to as the “silent killer” as no symptoms characterize it.

High Triglycerides and Low HDL Cholesterol are indicators of unhealthy blood fat levels.

Causes of Metabolic Syndrome

Genetic factors influence this condition, and studies show that it is affected by some elements of daily living and the environment. Other factors attributed to it are improper diet, inactivity, resistance to insulin, and excessive weight. These factors interfere with the proper function of insulin in the body, resulting in high blood sugar and fat content.
